Church hosts Christmas gift giveaway

WEST MILTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Community Grace Brethren Church in West Milton is working hard to make Christmas special for hundreds of children in the Miami Valley.
The church is giving toys away to dozens of less fortunate families for the second year in a row. Associate pastor Brian Orme said this year the need is greater than ever.
“Obviously there are lots of people that have a great need during this economic crisis and with the holidays its a really tough time.” He said.
Belinda Gillard was at the church Thursday night and picked out toys for her great nieces and nephews.
“They are going to be thrilled. Overjoyed.” She said.
In addition to the free gifts, each family also went home with a bag of groceries.
Orme said helping others gives the church a sense of the true meaning of Christmas
” We want to bless people in our community and serving people is a great way to celebrate the birth of Christ.
The church will hold one more gift giving night before Christmas, Thursday December 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
It is located at 2661 South Miami Street in West Milton.
