Posted by Terry White on February 21, 2012
Frances Ashman, 87, wife of longtime Grace Brethren pastor Charles Ashman, slipped into the Lord’s presence at 12:25 p.m. today, February 21, in the healthcare facility at Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Indiana. Frances’ health had deteriorated in recent weeks and a number of family members were with her at her passing.
Details, as they become available, will be posted here. Arrangements are through Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home in Warsaw, Indiana, and a public memorial service is tentatively scheduled for early Saturday afternoon, February 25, at Winona Lake (IN) Grace Brethren Church, where the Ashmans served from 1962 to 1989.

I was so saddened to hear this news. I know she is rejoicing this afternoon in the presence of our Lord, but she will be missed so much by Charlie and everyone who were blessed to have been graced by her life. Blessings, dear Godly woman.
So sorry to hear of the loss of Francis. She was a Godly woman and will be greatly missed. I remember her teachings in Seminary Wives looong ago. Thanks for the memories. Our prayers are with you, Charley. Love from Oregon.
Frances will be sorely missed by all who knew her; but we’re so glad she’s with the Lord. Our love and prayers to all the family. How we praise the Lord for a life well lived for him.

Thanking the Lord today for a godly woman who did not hesitate to use the gifts the Lord had uniquely given her. I was not at the church when I was 2 years old so I did not experience her tender, loving care in the nursery at that time, but I remember at later ages walking by the 2-year-old class Sunday after Sunday and seeing faithful Frances always in there with the children. She will be missed here, but welcomed as a saint in the arms of Jesus.
Mary and I are so sorry to here the news. She was a great lady and we loved them both.
Our prayers go out to all of her family, both immediate and church family.
Our love to all,

Judy, it was a sad reunion in the ICU as we shared moments with our precious moms. Please know you and your family are surrounded with love and prayers.
I never knew Frances well, but came to appreciate and love Pastor Charles over the years. I’m grieving for him, but also rejoicing in the “well done’s” that I’m sure she received.
“Pastor Ashman, and Frances, were our Pastor and wife, for the years we lived in Winona Lake. We have had such great respect for their heart and service for our Wonderful Lord. Charles, you and your family are in our prayers, now, and for the weeks ahead.
